In my opinion, and many others, it is not only the best wine in Ct., but many people say it is the best wine they have ever tasted.

Comment on Our Trip to the "Wine Region" of St. Martin

Hi-we were lucky enough to have our luxury holidays in St Martin (http://www.elegantresorts.co.uk/location/Caribbean/St_Martin.aspx
) last year-it was amazing-and we had a beach landing!. I usually go into the grocery or wine shop with a list or note I've made after reading reviews and spend $25+ per bottle. I decided to stick with the "end cap" choices (usually on sale for $10.99 range) I wanted to fine a bargin I could be happy with. Both my wife and I agreed we could drink the Red Truck and be happy most of the time, especially if not spending $100.00 on a fancy meal. I did a yahoo search and saw this review and was happy that you at least found it the lesser of a few evils.

Comment on Kiwis Spread Their Wings: New Zealand Pinot Noir

Ouch, Andrew. Denny's? Not even Olive Garden? Ok, so if the ones we tasted and liked are beneath you, please enlighten us, since we don't live in San Francisco. What Pinot reds do you recommend? We'll give them a taste and report back.

Cheers!
Comment on Kiwis Spread Their Wings: New Zealand Pinot Noir

Guys - making any call on NZ Pinot based on these wines is abit like making a call on US cuisine after a visit to Dennys - keep trolling the aisles - those three are all 2nd and 3rd rate wines in the nz wine scene and that would be generous where the oyster bay is concerned. Get thee straight to the San Francisco "Jug Shop" where there is the best US based NZ Pinot Noir collection. Chuck will direct you towards the light

Comment on Two Pinots in a Pod?

There are many great mid-sized Oregon wineries that have distribution outside of the state of Oregon. You should try asking at your local wine shop for suggestions.

Comment on Mollydooker The Boxer 2006 Shiraz: The Wine Spectator Was Right

I'm completely in love with Mollydooker winery.

You can order all their wines at www.mollydookerwines.com and get free shipping on a full (mixed) case, plus all the wine at the stated price (so $20 for the Boxer, which I think is the BEST $20 bottle of wine out there by far). Also try the Blue Eyed Boy (the one step up from the Boxer) - it's expensive at $50, but tastes like an $80-$100 bottle of wine, it's VERY impressive.

Comment on Trip to Sonoma County

upon return, please try bovolo, a little place off the square where jon makes his own cured meats and gelatos. no gimmicks or lies here, just real food for food lovers. this area is becoming a haven for people that are true artisans, not just nameplates.
