Preview: Foxwoods Food and Wine Festival
We live just two hours from Foxwoods, an Indian gaming resort and casino in the wilds of Connecticut. And yet, we've never been to this booming tourist mecca with 40,000+ visitors a day. Maybe it's our allergy to fanny packers and cigarette smoke. Or our fear of losing control and losing our shirts. But Foxwoods finally reeled us in with the one thing we can't resist— food and wine. We'll be heading to the Foxwoods Food and Wine Festival on September 15 to stroll the Grand Tasting and attend a seminar given by Ray Isle, Senior wine editor at Food & Wine, called Pinot Noir Around the World.
With Anheuser-Busch, 10 Cane Rum, and Grand Centenario Tequila exhibiting amidst the wineries and distributors, this "wine tasting" may be a bit less refined than the Taste of Sonoma event we attended last month. But refined can be so overrated, no? Especially when tequila shots enter the picture.
Stay tuned for our write up of the event.
